How could I resist a cafe called New York Tomato? Although, it's not named after my favourite city, it's a clever play on their location- the corner of New st and York st in Richmond. Given that it was such a hot day, I wasn't in the mood for a cooked breakfast so I opted for the bircher muesli with rhubarb and vanilla poached pears. It was tasty, but I'm going to have to say that I'm a bit of a bircher snob these days and I prefer a bit more yoghurt. I will say however that their freshly squeezed juice is amazing. I had apple and orange and it was cool and refreshing. I was also impressed by their selection of organic and fair trade drink options which included Phoenix organic sparkling juices and fair trade teas. I had a bit of food envy for Ben's waffles- also with rhubarb and poached pears. It looked amazing and tasted sensational. My meal came in at $19 even which I thought was reasonable.
